Many couples who are having trouble conceiving a child turn to the use of fertility drugs. There are actually several drugs on the market today that can aid in conceiving a child. Here are few examples of fertility drugs that can make a huge difference for couples who want to start a family.

Clomiphene Citrate is one of the more common fertility drugs in use today. Typically, the drug will work in many cases to help a woman conceive a child within three cycles. While this drug is not a sure thing, it does tend to make an impact for about half the women who choose to make use of clomid or serophene. As with any type of drug, there are some potential side effects, many of them minor. Among the side effects are nausea, some bloating, mild headaches, and hot flashes. Some women will also experience a change in the texture of the cervical mucus as well. While the chance of multiple births is possible with clomid, this drug tends to prove less likely for that application than some other fertility drugs.

Injectable hormones are another example of commonly used fertility drugs. There is actually a wide range of these types of fertility drugs marketed under a number of different name brands. Some of the categories for injectable hormone drugs are human chorionic gonadotripins, follicle-stimulating hormones, gonadotropin releasing hormones. Like clomid, injectable hormones tend to be effective for roughly half of the women who undergo the therapy. Side effects include such factors as swelling, some bruising around the injection site, a possible overstimulation of the ovaries, and an increased susceptibility to infections.

While there are no fertility drugs that will work for every situation, the broad range of drug therapies mean that if one treatment does not produce results, there is a very good chance that a different treatment series will result in conception. Consulting professional healthcare providers can often help to identify the best fertility drugs for a particular situation.
