How to Construct Your Own Fertility Calendar to Determine When You Should Try to Get Pregnant

Let's face it, getting pregnant is not a very easy task. There are a lot of variables involved, from your partner's sperm count to your ovulation periods. However, if you want to take a lot of the guesswork out of getting pregnant, you should build your own fertility calendar so that you can better determine the times when you are the most fertile, when you are ovulating, and what times of the month will give you the best opportunity to become pregnant.

A fertility calendar is a very easy chart to construct. All you need is a fertility calculator and a run of the mill wall calendar. Alternatively, if you are not comfortable constructing such a calendar yourself, you can as your doctor to see if he or she will construct one for you instead.

In order to make a calendar that will perfectly align with your menstrual cycles, you first need to know the length of your mensural cycles. This can be done by determining the length between the first day of your period and the day before the first day of your next period. It should be around 28 days in most cases, but some women will have longer or shorter cycles.

Next, you should mark down the dates that your periods start on your calendar. Take the number you came up with for your menstrual cycle length and enter that number and the start date of your last period into a fertility calculator to come up with the days where you will be the most fertile. Mark those days on your fertility calendar. Continue this process over and over again until you have filled up a year's worth of dates with your fertility information.
